Hey pals - it has been a bit of a crazy few weeks at Give Good Face Towers. Hallowe'en has had me painting all sorts of scary monsters, demons and gory things. Aside from the ghoulies I have been working away at some interesting things.
Firstly, I am delighted to announce that Stuart MacLeod is joining team Give Good Face to add caricatures to our party and event services - you can check out his instagram here As well as Stu's excellent drawings I have also added custom shoes to the menu for special occasions.
The next exciting thing is that I have been working on something cool with David from Walnut Wasp. His company website is here and I will share more with you when I can. Intriguing, innit?
If you will allow me for a moment I am going to share my total fangirl moment from this month - I went on a training course run by Nick Wolfe, that's right, flippin' Nick Wolfe!!! Look at me here playing it totally cool! Nick has a background in movie monsters and special effects. His company ran the face painting in Universal Studios and his enthusiasm and knowledge was infectious. He came to Glasgow to teach a class in scary face paints just in time for Halloween.
I have had some super cool jobs this month, aside from my weekends at Platform at Argyle Street Arches (where you can find me in the kids area for face painting paid for by Platform, every Saturday and Sunday 12-6pm), I also had a blast at Be Bop Bairns (a really fun kids party event); Massaoke Scotland's Hallowe'en Show; The List Hot 100 Party at BAaD Glasgow; the Meet the Widow event at Hutcheson's City Grill as well as wedding fayres at Oran Mor, Arta and St Lukes.
Amidst all the excitement I even managed a wee trip away with the fella. We stayed in a harvest hut, on a cliff, by the sea, in a gale. Totally worth it for the sunrises (pictured below) but I questioned my sanity when climbing down a ladder, dodging over-friendly coos in the dark just to have a pee. My life is all glamour I can assure you.
As you can see October has been pretty full on, November is shaping up nicely to be pretty excellent too.
I hope to catch you at an event soon.
